Brock Fleming was a super adorable, 7 year old, who had a warm smile, was very caring, and always laughing.  The kind of kid you would never forget. His favorite subject in school was math, for which he won a 1st Grade Math Award. He educated everyone on sharks, killer whales, and dinosaurs.  He was considered an artist among his friends known for his killer whale drawings.  When Brock grew up, he wanted to work at Sea World and train marine animals.

He was happiest when he was building Legos with Mommy, wrestling with Daddy, swimming with his big sister, Jenna, watching Jurassic Park and Jaws with family, watching cartoons, or playing soccer with friends. He was a proud member of the Boy Scouts and given the Spirit of the Eagle award.  Of all his titles, his favorite was being Mommy’s silly little “monkey.”

On May 4, 2016, Brock was walking the dog after dinner when he tripped and fell hard to the ground.  He hit his head on the sidewalk and woke up confused.  Anxiously, his parents rushed him to the hospital for what they thought was just a concussion, but instead, their lives were changed forever.

Brock was diagnosed with a rare, very aggressive, and inoperable brain stem tumor called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).  Because of its location, this Monster is difficult to treat.  At diagnosis, children are given 6-9 months to live and told to go home and enjoy the time they have left.  There is NO CURE.  Treatment options are limited, minimally successful, and very expensive.

Team Brock’s mission is to change that!!!  Through biannual charity events, we pledge to fundraise for DIPG research.  We will find The Cure!!!  We will help fund new treatment options that give more time and quality of life to DIPG patients and their families.
